At Brookside, we have three different bands. They are called the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Beginner Band. Below is a description of all three bands.
The Wind Ensemble is our top band here at Brookside. It is comprised of mostly 8th grade students with a few 7th grade students who are ready for the challenge. Students in the Wind Ensemble have the most responsibility as far as music preparation and performances.
Mrs. Troutman is the conductor for the Wind Ensemble and Mrs. Rogers team teaches with her during this class.
The Symphonic Band is our second band here at Brookside. It is comprised of mostly 7th grade students with a few 8th grade students. Students in the Symphonic Band have many more responsibilities and performances than they did as beginners.
Mrs. Rogers is the conductor for the Symphonic Band and Mrs. Troutman team teaches with her during this class.
Beginning Band is where all of our students learn the basics of their instruments in a like-instrument small class setting. Beginners perform two concerts, they compete in a contest called Gator Fest towards the end of the year, and they compete individually at a solo contest in May.
Mrs. Troutman teaches flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and percussion. Mrs. Rogers teaches trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone/euphonium, and tuba.
