|Ashley Guillot, Oboe Teacher -|
Ms. Guillot grew up in Louisiana, where she attended Marksville Junior High and Marksville High School. She chose the oboe in 6th grade from a picture hanging in the band room – she had no idea what it was called, but she had to play it! Ms. Guillot made Parish and District Honor Bands every year from 7th through 12th grades. She was a three-year all stater, and was first chair in the All State Band her senior year. She was the valedictorian of her class.
Ms. Guillot received a scholarship to attend both Northwestern State University and the University of Houston. She was involved in the Wind Ensemble and Orchestra at both Universities. She was a member of the music sorority Sigma Alpha Iota, where she held the offices of Editor, Vice President, and President.
Ms. Guillot teaches privately in CCISD and Pearland ISD. She says that she likes being able to work one on one with the students and be a part of their musical growth. She hopes to inspire the students through music. Ms. Guillot plays oboe and English Horn with the Rapides Symphony Orchestra in Alexandria, Louisiana, and area churches for various gigs.
